Global society? Frack no!

As of today my Pandora stations stopped working because of licensing constrains.

Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for most listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

We believe that you are in Poland (your IP address appears to be 83.13.X.X). If you believe we have made a mistake, we apologize and ask that you please contact us at

<!– Begin user = „pandora-support”; site = „pandora.com”; document.write(\\\\’\\\\’); document.write(user + \\\\’@\\\\’ + site + \\\\’\\\\’); // End –> If you are a paid subscriber, please contact us at

<!– Begin user = „pandora-support”; site = „pandora.com”; document.write(\\\\’\\\\’); document.write(user + \\\\’@\\\\’ + site + \\\\’\\\\’); // End –> and we will issue a pro-rated refund to the credit card you used to sign up. If you have been using Pandora, we will keep a record of your existing stations and bookmarked artists and songs, so that when we are able to launch in your country, they will be waiting for you.

We will be notifying listeners as licensing agreements are established in individual countries. If you would like to be notified by email when Pandora is available in your country, please enter your email address below. The pace of global licensing is hard to predict, but we have the ultimate goal of being able to offer our service everywhere.

We share your disappointment and greatly appreciate your understanding.

Until now, Pandora was blocking only people that kindly said that they where form outside of US ;). Now they got little bit smarter, and blocking is IP based.

The more RIAA and friends, try save they sorry fat asses, the more support pirates will get. Pandora was one of the fine compromises between free music access and copyrighted world.

Are we a global society? No, there is US and there is the rest of the world. I would very much like to buy latest episodes of my favorite series on itunes, but I can’t, itunes does not work in Poland!

Sorry under our licensing agreement your are a third world country.

If you are thinking „PROXY”, I’ll have to disappoint you, the few free proxy services I’ve checked does not work:

Sometimes even the player is not loaded. A little bit of tampering with proxy generated HTML may help a bit, but still music does not play 🙁

There is a workaround, it requires a little bit of programming. The solution is not trivial, but is doable, have fun.

With best wishes to ZAIKS and RIAA… may they soon rest in peace… I’m going to listen my Pandora stations 😉

Simply workaround … use PayPal as a payment, select US as country of residence for PayPal only for a moment in which You will register it on iTunes, then You can revert it back to Poland. …
